using recovery disks

After a series of random shutdowns in Windows 7, I have been trying to reset my computer to factory configuration using the disks I created when I bought the computer.  But when I get to about 46% of the way through the recovery (disk 2/3), it tells me that it can't restore my computer through factory image and that I need to contact HP support.  Am I doing something wrong?

Re: using recovery disks

The second time I tried it the computer just froze once I got to disk 2/3.  The dvd drive spun for about 2 minutes with no change on screen and then everything went a pastel blue.

Re: using recovery disks

You can call HP and provide the computer information to see if they have it or go to http://www.computersurgeons.com/
