Hi

I have an older Compaq, model 7596 desk top. In start up this appears \windows\system32\config\system

is corrupted. Not able to get past this screen. The recovery disk will not work. How can I correct this problem?

Hello toemus, Since this system shipped with Windows 95, it is becoming quite old. It is well over 15 years old.

 

It is possible the operating system has become corrupted but more likely the hard drive has failed.
