I have an HP p6510f with windows7 64 bit. The question is I have Microsoft Security Essentials (very pleased has caught everything and have no virus, malware, or adware problems) yet all assistants or software scanning programs say I have no virus protection. Fully updated and system scanned by MSE, is aware of itself but not detected by other programs. Any suggestions as to why not being recognized as my virus protection by HP Advisor or other detection software.

Review the settings in the Windows Action Center. Be sure that Virus is checked.

HP does not pay attention to this? Hp Advisor just updated today -- with the same nonsense. It does not recognize MSE as Antivirus. It should look at the facts.
Why should anyone trust ANY recommendations of HP Advisor if it cannot even recognize Antivirus software?

I have to agree that there is certainly an issue with HP Advisor not recognising that MSE provides anti-virus protection. This machine is experiencing the same fault. Damning the entire HP Advisor software product seems a bit extreme though.

Installed GFI Sunbelt Software Vipre Premium and the same thing is happening on a m8400f. This appears to be that HP is trying to sell Norton products when you click on the resolve button.
