hi i have & still use regullary a elite M9441uk tower syystem & want to know if i can upgrade my prosessor without upgrading the motherboard i currantly have a quad core duo cpu.

please help if you can.

The motherboard SUPPORT PAGE indicates this:

Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
  • Intel Core 2 Quad (Y) Q9xxxx
  • Intel Core 2 Duo (W) E8xxx
  • Intel Core 2 Quad (K) up to Q6600
  • Core 2 Duo E6x00 (C) up to E6700
  • Core 2 Duo E4x00 (C) up to E4400

So, depending on the present CPU exact model number, then try looking for one that fits the specs and is to a liking better than the one installed.

The @TheOldMan makes a valid point, keep with the constraints.  The max allowable chip wattage is 95W.  Here are the spec of the Q8200 (represented on the config page), and here are the commonly found Q9xxx chips, which are all 95W. The prices on that page are not up-to-date.
