My computer ( Hp Pavillon s3137c) was overheating so I cleaned it. Since it is a compact desktop I had to remove the fan assembly from the computer to clean it. It is the fan and radiator on top of the cpu type. After everything is cleaned I screw the fan assembly back in and now the computer won't start! The light turns on, the fan starts turning and a second later everything shuts down. Can someone help me?

Did you clean off the old thermal paste from the top of the processor and heat sink and apply new thermal paste? This is probably not the reason but it should have been done.
Try this procedure:
Unplug the PC and open it up. Carefully remove and replace all the cables going to the motherboard one at a time. Do the same for the memory dimms and the video and sound cards if you have any. Plug your PC back in a give it a go.
Do you hear any beeps?

Thermal paste? I guess I'm out of date with today's computer. I'll buy some and use it. Could the fact that I didn't put any thermal paste back on be the cause of my computer not starting? Thanks for the tip, I'll let you know if the problem is solved.

I did the procedure as you said. Turns out that if I hold the power supply cables going to the motherboard a certain way the computer works fine but as soon as I let go of them it turns off. I don't know how to fix that problem myself but at least I know where the problem is now. Thanks for the help.

It might be a loose or bad connector and possibly a connection issue inside of the power supply. Try just holding or moving one cable at a time until you find the issue.
