HP xw8400 workstation

I connected a gtx 750 it frozr to my hp xw 8400 workstation, when i powered everything it didn't boot and there was a red light and 6 beeps in  a row (graphics card not detected).  How is this possible that it can't detect my graphics card??

You are very welcome, @wout_symons.  I am sorry to say that the BIOS can't be upgraded to UEFI.  It has to come from the factory with a ver. 8 BIOS.

@wout_symons, welcome back to the forum.

 

The first thing that you should do is check the BIOS to see if it is UEFI.  This is necessary for the GTX 750Ti to work in the motherboard.  You can check this by typing msinfo32 in the Run box (Win key + x - select Run) and pressing Ok.  It is shown under BIOS Mode.

 

MSI does make a GTX 750Ti that has a switch to allow it to work with either a Legacy or UEFI.

@ , i checked it and it is an old version so not UEFI. Is it possible to upgrade my BIOS off my xw8400 workstation and can you show me how?
