HP Pavilion 25xw monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using this monitor with a 2013 Dell XPS laptop running windows 10 - 64 bit.

When I attach the  HP monitor via HMDI cable, I get a picture of my laptop screen on the monitor alright, but no sound. (not even laptop speaker sound when I select laptop speakers under Sound/devices)

I checked Windows Sound/devices and it does show the monitor as a device under Sounds, but running a "test" on it gives no sound even though the green bar flashes.

Does this monitor have speakers?

Thanks

Hi,

Well, I think the very basic design: Monitors need speaker(s) to be able to emit sound. Unfortunately, the HP Pavilion 25xw monitor does NOT have any speaker:

therefore no sound.
