HP Pavilion Slimline S5780T
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP Pavilion Slimline S5780T (http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c02682452) that has a RALINK RT3092 802.11n Wireless LAN with Bluetooth card installed that I would like to upgrade to Wireless-AC.

Does the HP Pavilion Slimline S5780T have a wireless white list? If so, is there a list that I could reference so that
I could find a compatible card or do others have alternate suggestions?

At this point, I am focusing on the following:

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 HP Part #710661-001

I have searched for various HP RALINK RT3092 replacements, but I have only found laptop references, similar to the

following:

Thanks!

OK, I 'll answer my own question, in case it might help others.

At least for the S5780T desktop (and I assume others using the same card, since the desktops do not appear to have a white list), any standard Intel 7260HMW WIRELESS-N or WIRELESS-AC (dual-band) Mini PCIE card should work fine, including the standard Intel drivers and existing dual antennas (just unplug old ones and attach to new card).

On ebay, either of these cards can be bought shipped for less than $20 and make a huge difference in wireless throughput.

If it helps at all, the current RT3092 is model 573622-001, similar to the following:

Ralink RT3092 802.11b/g/n Half Mini card HP 573622-001 WEPER-120GN

As another point of reference, I did buy a Intel 7260NGW for my HP Pavilion Mini 300-030 which worked great, but that unit does not have a wireless white list.
