The answers provided only give a TEMPORARY fix. Problem still exists after reboot, app change or similar. I want these frkn blue keys gone FOREVER!!!

This solution (hold down left cap + ctrl keys down while tapping rt cap key worked as you said it would. It did take a few tries, though.

This worked for me ctrl/shift tap shift Many thanks, I used to turn off the machine to reset it.

This solution has worked for me several times. Now, if I could only figure out why the keyboard changes in the first place?

Answer:

Probably hitting the same combination of keys that turn it off by accident so it goes to back to those characters which you don't want again... happens to me as well

Oh my HECK!  I`ve been frustrated with this problem  SO many times.  I never would have guessed there`s be such a simple solution.  Thank you VERY much.
