Thank you for the idea. It did not work, though...

Re: Welcome! Get started here

Sorry, you do not have sufficient privileges for that action.

Please click the Back button on your browser.

It was not uncommon to ask one what level of computer understanding they had when joining a forum or in the old days when many computer manufacturers had free call in tech help; one of the first question had to do with your understanding of computers. I was always modest with my answer because I realized that there were so many aspects of tech help that surely I couldn't in all honesty call myself an expert. Over the year I kept up with technology and still have lots of friends call me and or ask me to help them with their problems. But when I need to ask a question and I'm faced with posting in a forum and waiting for a reply and remembering my user name and password and signing in only to find that I somehow do not know how to post a question or do not have "sufficient privilege" ( whatever that means ) then read a few posts and see that many people are equally confused by the process I wonder who comes up with these idea's and why?
Has there ever been a study done to find out how many people find this process helpful, easy to use and easy to understand? I know that answers can be found here I had one answered about a printer problem I was having. But the problem existed for weeks before I got the right answer and went out and purchased a new printer because I couldn't be without a printer until an answer came in from a fellow user and not from an HP tech specialist.
I would appreciate if someone could tell me why I could not post a question after sending for my forgotten password? Was I in the wrong place? Had it been too long since I posted? How would one know?
Look at this message:
Sorry, you do not have sufficient privileges for that action.

Please click the Back button on your browser.

Hit the "back" button and make a video of how long the lovely " the time is a spinning" icon that MS uses to let you know that things are not moving along too quickly....click that back button and keep your eye on the clock spent here trying to find the right way and right place to post a question.
Tell me again: how is this method helpful?
Sorry if I seem a little unhappy with the process but I'd love to have a built in clock that show me how much time I spend attempting to get what could be an easy answer to an easy question. Like this:
How and why is it that my HP laptop model Pavilion DV7 with Vista  doesn't give me sufficient notice that the battery is low? Yes, I know how to change the settings and have changed them several times but the computer has turned off several times before I can plug it in or shut it off normally so of course I get a message that I turned off the computer incorrectly. Like today when the moment the triangle and ! mark showed up and said I had 14 % left I quickly went to start and shut down but it just lingered far too long and after it was charged up and restarted I got the message that it was turned off incorrectly. So now I am running the check disk tools again as I always do. You know how long THAT takes.
Sorry for the long story but this is the result of frustration and a reoccurring problem.
Thanks

Re: Welcome! Get started here

I have been infected by Babylon 9; I have removed it successfully from both IE and Firefox, but iiiit is stil lurking in  there. I need to remove it - any way short of resetting my computer to factory settings?
