I would say its broken, since that's the common usage. Go to any other forum on the internet: typically they say login with username and password. You can also optionally supply email address. I just am not convinced why HP cannot use the username also to login with - it's not rocket science and it's what any reasonable user would expect. If you don't remember username, you're free to login with the email id as well.

I respect your opinion, but I still disagree it's broken. It doesn't matter if other Forums are different, the thing is: when you register, it clearly states that your HP ID will be the same as your email address - so your screen name ("electronicsguy") IS NOT your user ID.

This is much more easier for users - IMO. Why having a different user ID, that is not related at all to your screen name and or email? People often forget their usernames, therefore many of them they don't access the Forum anymore because they don't wanna reset and stuff..

By the way, IMHO the HP Forums is much better than other forums I use - won't say brand names, but other tech forums are more confusing and polluted.

But I love democracy and I trully respect your opinion! :generic:

Have a nice day!

Cheers,
