Changing profile info

Not sure where to post this.

I just became aware that my profile has an invalid email address. When I try to change it to the correct address, I'm told that it is already in use by another user (which is me).

What do I have to do to change the email in my profile and retain the same user ID?

Is it possible you have multiple accounts in the community?

   Your UserID and e-mail address are different data fields, although HP recommends you utilize your e-mail address as your UserID.  Each is separately modifiable from the edit my profile screen, although to change your UserID you have to follow a link in the box in the left margin.  Its my impression that HP only limits duplicates in e-mail addresses as UserID's, but not as e-mail addresses in profiles, although I have not personally tested this.

   Do you have more than 1 online account?  Were you able to resolve your problem?  - Randy

I tried to do exactly the same, i.e change the email address in my user profile but its keeps saying someone else already owns the email address. i.e. me.  i'm trying to do this urgently ahead of me deleting my personal email account.  please help me?  thanks

   Is the problem with your old e-mail address or the new address you are trying to change to?

The problem is with the new email address i'm trying to change to.  HP seems to say it already exists?

I am stupid or something, because i cannot even find out how to change my darn profile picture.. much less help you with that complex issue of email addresses, I have been all over trying to find out how in the heck to change this circus tent they have for me by my user name.. and I am feeling really dumb now.. and lost.
