Hi sonofbaldr,
To change your avatar, click on your username, and on the right panel there should be a section titled "My Community". Click on "More Resources" which will expand a menu, where you should click on "User Settings".
On the second line of links (the one that begins with Personal Profile), click "Avatars".
I hope this helps.
Regards,
SunshineF

You can not use a personal avatar?
You must choose from one of the ones they offer?
