HP OMEN 17-w005na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I have noticed that my new HP Omen laptop key sticks on games meaning for example in doom when moving my character will continue in that direction when I release the keys.  I thought it was the game itself but it's now happend in several games such as Doom, Doom 3 and Ark.  It doesn't happen all the time.  Looking around this seems to be a recurring issue with HP laptops.  Is there a fix as it renders a gaming laptop useless if your in the middle of a game and your WSAD keys suddenly go haywire.  I am really hoping this is a software issue that can be fixed.  Help.

Hi,

The only option I can see that may be worth trying is to make sure you're running the latest bios version ( F.09 Rev.A ) as it mentions 'Provides improved keyboard behavior when games are played on the system.'

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp76501-77000/sp76810.cva

You can check the notebooks current bios revision by holding down the fn key and pressing esc.

If you are running an earlier revision, F.09 Rev.A can be found on the following link.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp76501-77000/sp76810.exe

If you're already running this bios, or it doesn't correct the issue, my best advice would be to contact HP regarding this while the machine is still under warranty.

If you live in the UK, contact HP Here.

I wanted to give it a while before posting again to test. Happy to say I haven't had anymore issues after updating the BIOS.
