HP OMEN 15-5116tx.
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

whenever I am using applications like mail, windows store, weather, even though I close them with the X sign, they continue in the background.

at the time of shutdown,I have to go to ctrl+alt+del to open task manager and manually select them to close.
