HP ENVY 5540
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong board as this is my first time on the forums.

The printer is a HP ENVY 5540 and is connected to the same wifi network as my laptop.

First off my printer used to work well printing wirelessly with ease.

For some reason now there are issues with it.

So I looked for advice on the website and one suggested I unistall the printer software off of my laptop.

I did that then reinstalled easy start and the software for my printer through HP's website.

I open the program easy start and my printer won't appear at all despite it having an excellent connection and the blue light is on near the wifi symbol.

I have tried restarting both the laptop, printer, and the router.

None of it has worked.

Please help as I must get back to my work as soon as possible.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you try this:

From the Applications folder delete any existing HP Scan or HP Easy Scan app.
Delete HP Scan or HP Easy Scan by moving it to trash, then empty the trash.

Ensure the latest software is installed, use this link for your printer:

macOS X : HP Easy Scan

Also, make sure that your drivers are up to date

> Click on the Apple icon, select About this Mac and then press Software Update
>Click Store on the top menu bar, click Reload Page, click Update All if any updated are available.

Hope that helps!

I'm sorry to say that none of these have worked.

The printer still won't pop up on Easy Start despite me trying everything that was stated in your response.

I have updated everything on the laptop and have reinstalled the scanner, but it still won't work.
