I managed to de-install my printer as recommended and now I am trying to run the Print Doctor to re-install, but it says that the software needed is not on my computer, and then when it tries to download it, it fails.

Hi,
Do you try setting it through a wireless network?
If so, first follow these steps to connect it to your wireless router:
- Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already turned on.
- On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon (). The Wireless Summary screen displays.
- Touch the Settings icon (), and then touch Wireless Settings.
- Touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then follow the instructions on the control panel to connect the printer to your wireless network.
Next install the following software and check for any difference:
Click the Yes button to reply that the response was helpful or to say thanks.

I understand it is windows 8.
I did download software but what then?
When I try to add the printer it asks for a WPS PIN and I don't know where to find that. I can't see it in the Instruction manual or on the printer.
