My HP Officejet Pro 8630 scans a dim perpendicular black stripe BUT only in doc feeder. The stripe is not physically imprinted on the document when it's scanned. Doc feeder copies perfectly, and flatbed scan is perfect. How do I fix this? Hope I just clean something. Curious why only doc feeder--it's not a separate scanner is it?

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!
A black stripe appearing when the top document feeder is used is often due to a tiny speck of dirt or paper that is stuck in the narrow window that is just before the flatbed window. The scanner camera parks itself in this slit while the paper feeds past it.
Look for the strip at the extreme edge of the flatbed. Use some canned air to blow out anything that may be stuck there.
I've had this happen with my HP AIO printer before, and found the answer here in the Forum! 🙂
