Blu Ray drive upgrade?

I have a dv6119wm  windows 7, 6mb ram and a 640mb hdd, and would like to know if I can get an internal blu ray dvd drive?  I know the computer has a hdmi output so I think the graphics should be OK.

Thanks for the help,

Jim

Re: Blu Ray drive upgrade?

Hi,

I can't see any problem with this. All you need is the right driver after the installation. Here is a tip:

Hi, Jim:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02842252.pdf

Please see chapter 3, page 37 for the available blu-ray drive with the HP part number to order it.

You can order one at the link below if available, or do a search by the part number on eBay.

Re: Blu Ray drive upgrade?

Hi:

Sorry, I missed that qualifier.

It probably will not work because it would have not stated just for Intel processors if it was for all dv6000's.

Now, if you look at the parts store, that part # was superceded by a new part # (665329-001).

You may want to contact HP parts, and see if that new part # would work on any dv6000/dv9000 notebook.
