CPU Swap?

I Have an HP G42-415DX and I was wondering if I could upgrade my CPU, and if I can How? And is there anything special I should look for while buying a new CPU?

Hi:

 

Here is the service manual for your notebook. On pages 1-3 are the list of supported processors (AMD or Intel).

Naturally, you would only be able to uprade Intel to Intel or AMD to AMD.

 

I do not believe there are any other special things you need to know. Just read any BIOS release notes on your notebook's support and download page to make sure none are needed to support the faster processor you intend to install.

 

The service manual will also come in handy to help you remove and replace the processor.
