Can I upgrade the memory in my dv6qte from 8 gig to 16 gig

I know that they can be purchased with 16 gig.  So, is there any reason I cannot buy 2 8 gig sticks ( assuimg all the other parameters are the same speed, voltage etc) and replace the exiting pair of 4 gig sticks?

The model # you posted does not show up. I understand it is a dv6-something, but that isn't enough info.

If it helps, the it's a dv6tqe.  When I have the system in my hands again I will get the modle number.

The product number is LM332AV and the model is dv6t-6100  It is a quad core i7.  So, the answer appears to be yes.  Given the memory in the system I am assuming that i need to user ddr3 -1333 1.5v sodims.

You can install 2 x 8 GB of PC3-1333 (PC3-10600) memory.
