I just did this upgrade using the recommended memory from Crucial to take a DV6-2190 Windows Home Premium 64-bit to 8GB. Windows is reporting 8GB, but only 3.9GB usable. I thought this was an old problem that was fixed ages ago. What gives?

Hi:
I believe if you do the following, you should be good to go...
Run 'msconfig', go to the 'boot' tab, click 'advanced options', and uncheck 'maximum memory'.
Reboot
After the restart, you should see at least 7.xx GB of usable memory.
