I need to change my Sata HD to SSD.

I noticed that my Sata HD is connected to the motherboard of an adapter or trough.
I bought an SSD Lite-on Model: LMT-128M6M.

How Do I? Since the adapter or unsecured coretamente SSD.

Already grateful for the help.

Hi,

Your laptop supports 1.8" hard drives.

It will need a pure 1.8" SSD I guess.:)

Hi There,

in the quick specs document for the HP EliteBook 2540p Notebook PC there is mentioned that one can only place a  80/160 GB Solid State Drive.

Why is it not possible to place for instance an Intel DC S3500 240GB SSD drive? This drive has more GB's and is faster... :smileyindifferent:

How can I configure my elitebook that way that it will accept such a drive  without losing maximum performance?

Thanks!

The laptop supports only 1.8" drives in the primary hard drive bay. I think that a 1.8" 240GB drive should work on the laptop. However, it can't be the Intel because it's a standard 2.5" drive and won't fit in. The manual says that you can use a standard 2.5" solid state drive such as the Intel one but only in a hard drive carrier (caddy/enclosure pn#

598787-001) instead of the optical drive (DVD-ROM).

Don't forget that the laptop supports only SATA II connection. This means that you can probably use a SATA III drive but it will work as a SATA II one.

Good afternoon!

I have a plan raplacing the HDD to SSD. This way will need me to buy  the new SSD 1.8". This way make the old one to become useless 😞 I dont want to waste my old one so that can I plug the new one SSD through the 2.5" internal storage bay and uses it as the primary hard drive to install the operationg system? Is it possible?

Looking forward to hearing your suggesions.

Thank you so much,

Phule
