Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

OK I can see what the first problem is the battery chemistry is NiMH [Nickel–metal hydride] and they are the worst batteries that you can get due to the battery remembering when it was charged(i.e. its like a half life affect but it can be prevented). All I can say is get a new NiMH battery and DO NOT I reapeat DO NOT RECHARGE the battery until 15% charge is left then plug it in to charge. I know it sounds annoying but its how a NiMH battery should be treated.
The best way to solve it for good with a bonus of more battery life is to get a Li ion battery.
I'm not a mega expert on everything but I hope this battery tip could help with solve the problem partially or completely.
Here is a link to Wikipedia for Nickel–metal hydride batteries.

I am having the same problem. When I work I used the AC connection because it makes my screen brighter. However when I start up in the morning I am getting info that my battery is low or need changing or replacing. Also the battery icon on the status bar said the battery is  60% when I know I unplug it at 100% the night before.

I am using a Windows 8.1

when I did the energy test listed on this page it took a little while to analyze. Then it came back and said :

Platform Power Management Capabilities:Supported Sleep States

Sleep states allow the computer to enter low-power modes after a period of inactivity. The S3 sleep state is the default sleep state for Windows platforms. The S3 sleep state consumes only enough power to preserve memory contents and allow the computer to resume working quickly. Very few platforms support the S1 or S2 Sleep states.

My Hp laptop does this as well. But judging from the lack of HP helpers it would seem the only solution is to take my battery out ever time i unplug. Not too inconvienient but I will say this, "I'm never getting an HP ever again." Since this is a harware problem and I've never done anything to the hardware, it would mean the computer was made this way and if that's the way their gonna make computers then i'll take my bussiness elsewhere.

I have the same issue with my HP Pavillion 11 and I fully agree with you. HP support is useless, very good at hype and putting software on to control PCs as they like but completely useless when problems arise.

There are several issues on this same matter and even when a so-called HP expert appears they suddenly disappear just as quick without a solution !! GARBAGE.

HP EXPERTS AND SUPPORT >>>>> WHERE ARE YOU WHEN YOUR CUSTOMERS HAVE PROBLEMS ??

DO YOU WANT FUTURE BUSINESS AND FOR YOUR CURRENT CUSTOMERS TO RECOMMEND YOUR MACHINES ??

OR WOULD YOU PREFER US TO SAY YOUR SUPPORT IS NOTHING SHORT OF DISMAL :indifferent:

HP Recommended

To HP

Thank you for my new rank of "Honour Student"  ..... However I would prefer you give a solution to this issue rather than give me "ranks" that account for nothing in the REAL WORLD !

Just give an answer as to why our HP machines are losing all the battery charge when powered off.

Thank you for your kind consideration but I am not holding my breath waiting for a reply.

It seems this issue has been ongoing now since 12-29-2013 and some expert  called         appears, asks the user for details which are given but then    never replies but just disappears into the ether.

WHERE ARE YOU HP ? JUST GIVING MEDALS OUT FOR POSTS IS NO GOOD !! WE WANT ANSWERS !!

HP Recommended

Please note ..... I see from my profile you are noting systems and IP addresses etc. My posts have been sent to this forum via my LENOVO laptop rather than my HP Pavillion because I am still awaiting my Pavillion to charge once again after going flat when not in use.

GET THIS MATTER SORTED AND GIVE US A SILUTION AS TO WHY HP MACHINES GO FLAT WHEN POWERED OFF AND NOT IN USE PLEASE !!!

Or do we all just change brands next time ??

HP Recommended

Turn off Wifi or Turn on Airplane Mode beforeyou shutdown or sleep

HP Recommended

I can understand why this can work in sleep" mode but when the notebook is turned off????

Do HP leave wireless cards on when everything else is turned off? If so WHY ??

Also where are the HP Experts here with these problems with their computers. Do they al disappear and leave Joe Public to sort their **bleep** out for them

HP Support and Customer Service is useless. I'll never buy another one EVER !!

You can't even e-mail them. GARBAGE. SHEER GARBAGE !!
