i have a hp g61-300 and it is giving me error lights indicating the cpu is not functioning, being new to laptops I need some help, does this indicate bad processor, as it has been overheating and when I got the lights I took it apart and changed the gell and completely cleaned the fan which was very dirty?
CORRECTION::: so turning the laptop back on I find I was wrong on the code, it is BIOS and the BIOS upgrades are for AMD processor and I have an Intel processor please help? I cannot get the laptop on to check the things I am supposed to check

Fixya . com / support says
Solutions (1)
Yes! judging by all the cascade break downs, I would suggest replacing the motherboard, HP has a history with motherboard issues.
is this the only solution? If yes which motherboard should I replace with?
