hey guys i have right now 3gb of ram and for obvious reasons i need to upgrae to at least 4gb (well at least i would like to)

so the first question i have is super easy for most

would my g62 be able to upgrade to 4gb ram?

http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02542102.pdf

according to the manual given (which i believe to be the correct manual for my model of laptop)

it says that i could have up to 4gb, now does this mean a single 4gb stick (making 8 if you have the duo) or does this mean total? the last thing i would want is to overheat the cpu and make things much worse on my own experience.

secondly.

what brand would everyone consider being the best brand to buy from, keep in mind that this woul be used for gaming.

third.

would i need any other modifications in order for the ram to be better or worse?

meaning would i need a different fan? or extra fans, my laptop does over heat if left on a level place like the couch.

here is another quick view of the specs. someone also told me that i should upgrade my graphics card, is this also true?

thanks in advance,

Logan

Hi,

G62 is a series of many models, what is yours ? Many models can be upgraded to 8Gb. What is the OS of your machine ? Please note 32bit can not address over 4Gb (for normal PC/laptop). You don't need more fan to upgrade RAM.
