How do I roll back a bios upgrade?

I need help quickly. I upgraded a bios upgrade and it messed up my laptop.

If you own a recent notebook from the last two years with the UEFI environment installed it is pretty simple.

 

Press power button and start tapping the Esc key to access the startup menu. In th startup menu select the F2 key. That will invoke the HP Advanced System Diagnostics. Select BIOS management  and in the BIOS management screen select BIOS Rollback. 

 

BTW... it always helps if you provide us with the product name or product number of your notebook.

How can I do this, when I can't see anything, I have a black screen. I hear the fan running, lights are on, but can't see a blasted thing.

Thi information on this page about the HP laptop not displaying the screen and remaining black has helped me to  resolve my HP dv6

I have no idea what the specifics of your issue are.

You should try a hard reset

Try a hard reset as follows:

1) Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
2) Press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
3) Plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
4) Press the power button
