How to setup and run CD Recovery?

For HP Pavillion DV9925nr Laptop, I replaced a new Hard-Drive and installed the first CD Recovery (purchased online). After one minus installing the CD Recovery, it shows Errors message: "Error 0x4001100200000100A, If this error, contact HP"  What can I do? Need help!

Re: How to setup and run CD Recovery?

Hi

Once unit is powered on keep tapping F10 Key go to Diagnostics run the Hard drive test and check it this passes.

Use the following steps to recover the computer from a set of recovery discs (either CDs or DVDs):

  1. Disconnect and remove all external devices such as printers, USB drives, and memory cards.
  2. Turn on the computer, if it is not already on, and insert the first recovery disc labeled #1.
  3. After the first disc is in the drive and the drive is closed, turn off the computer by pressing and holding the Power button.
  4. Turn on the computer. The computer opens the Recovery Manager program.
  5. On the System recovery screen, select Run program from disc , and then click Next . A Welcome to Recovery Manager screen opens.
  6. On the Welcome to Recovery Manager screen, click Next .
  7. On the Microsoft System Restore screen, select No , and then click Next .
  8. Another System recovery screen opens. Select Yes , and then click Next .
  9. The Recovery Manager gives you the option of backing up your data files. To do so, readBacking up your files .
If you do not want to backup your files, select Recover without backing up your files , and then click Next .
  10. Read and respond to the screens as they appear. If a screen prompts for a disc, insert the next disc. In some cases, you may have to repeatedly insert the same disc several times before the screen allows you to continue.
  11. After the System Recovery is complete, the computer restarts and continues into Windows setup. Complete the setup screens and wait until the computer finishes the setup. Then, turn off the computer, reconnect all peripheral devices, and turn on the computer.
  12. Before using the computer, update and protect your computer. Reinstall any virus and security software that was installed before the System Recovery.
  13. Reinstall any software applications that were after purchasing the computer, and any files that were backed up.

If all off these does not work please call HP technical support and order the new recovery disc.
