Hello,

My laptop's Ram stoped working. It came with 1 GB ram of two 512MB rams each. One of them stopped working and i need to buy a replacement.

I believe the system came with 533mhz rams but now it is difficult to find one with the exact speed.

I have tried a 2GB ram of 667 MHZ and it seemed to have worked fine.

I have two options right now:

1. Kingston 2GB 667 MHZ ram

and

2. Kingston 2GB 800 MHZ ram.

I am prefering the 800Mhz ram because it is cheaper. Please help me and guide me in purchasing the right ram.

Can the 800MHZ one work in my system?

Hi:

 

The 800 MHz memory should work fine. It will run at the highest speed of either the other memory chip you have installed or the PC's chipset's capability.
