I replaced the stock 500gb hard drive with a SATA II 40GB SSD as soon as I got the computer. Now I am in need of replacing my SSD for one with more storage space and I figured I should also upgrade with one of the new SATA III SSD.
My question is, will my laptop benefit from the SATA III speeds or will it be bottlenecked to SATA II speeds?

Hi,
I don't think so. I have seen some posts on SSD forums (Corsair, Patriot) and all said that there is no any benefit from a SATA-6 SSD in a SATA-3 computer..

Hi,
There will be no benefits because of using SATA III drive in this model.
It only make sense if you are using it on models with Intel 6 series chipsets.
