Needing help to upgrade video card, etc.. hp pavilion a6512p [ Edited ]

I have

HP Pavilion a6512p -KT369AA

System: KT369AA#ABA

Windows Vista 64 bit

500g drive

4g memory

Everything is factory.

I am wanting to install a graphics card but not sure how powerful I can install. I looked on the HP site but it just gave specifications on what the integrated video card was already on it. Any suggestions?

I am getting ready for the release of Guild Wars 2.. so I already know I need to bump the memory to possibly 8g.. Need a graphics card... and possibly upgrade my power supply.

Any suggestions would be appreciated on all!! (I am a new tech enthusiast! and will be installing everything myself)

Hi,

This is a laptop section but we can help as well. Have look at this:

Your desktop is not a Core 2 Duo so I would recommend some processor upgrade too. The graphics card has to be a PCIe x16 and it's up to your pocket which one. Buy some decent Nvidia GeForce card with at least a 1GB of DDR3 RAM. I believe that a 4GB of RAM will be enough. The PSU should be also upgraded to approx 450W or 500W..

No problem mate!

A new CPU, PSU and a graphics means that probably a newer decent machine could be a better option. Have a look on ebay, I suggest some Intel Core i5-750 might be a very good machine because it's a pure quad core and beats even a core i7 mobile processors...
