I need a ram upgrade, I was thinking 1x4gb +1x8gb= 12gb, does my model support it kindly reply with facts/links as I have to cancel the order if it doesnt and pls reply soon

HP Recommended

I have used 1X2GB and 1X8GB in my g6 2313ax and they seem to work fine as of now. The manual does not allow this config , will it be a problem if i continue this way??
