Pavilion dv6
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I want to upgrade the Memory of my laptop. It has 4GB (2x2GB). I want to upgrade to either 8GB or 16GB if possible. I have found some RAM modules on newegg.com such as this one - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139976 - I wonder if it will be compatible with my laptop. Here is some system specs:

- Model: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC

- Processor: Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz

- RAM: 4GB

- System type: 64-bit Operating System

You do not give us the exact model but dv6's with 2d gen Intel Core processors max at 8 gigs. 3rd and 4th gen can take 16.

The type of memory you linked will work fine... but 2 x 4 gig modules, not 8 gig modules. Also notice how the picture shows 8 black blocks on the side of the memory....get modules like that, not with 4 blocks. The speed is correct. DDR3-1333.  Let us know if you need any more help.
