Hi i have a HP Pavilion dv6746tx and i have looked everywhere to find out how much ram my laptop can take and what type of ram my laptop can take but i have had no luck. My operating system is Windows 7 (32 bit) and it is going quite slow i really need a ram upgrade.

 

Ps. i am running on 2gb of ram already and i want to upgrade to 4gb of ram.

Hi,

 

This is from its specs:

 

"Up to 4 GB (Up to 1 GB may not be available due to 32-bit operating system resource requirements)"

 

and from another site:

 

Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 4GB
Slots: 2
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.*
