SSD upgrade for DV7t-6100

[ Edited ]

Greetings,

I read a few threads about upgrading their laptops with a new SSD hard drive. But, they had me wondering that it may not be a simple as I first thought. I would like to replace the current hard drive with an SSD. Then, use the original for media and backup's.

This is for the HP dv7t-6100 product #LM422AV. Windows 7 64-bit.

Will a SSD SATA III 240GB work for my laptop? If not, what is the max HD size & SATA  version that can work?.

Thank you

Hi,

I believe it will work. The laptop is a SATA III (the latest generation) one so it shouldn't cause any troubles..
