I have a Presario v6305nr and in the manual it says it works with a min card 407674-001, but that's only the card currently installed in the laptop which is only an a/b/g card. I'm looking for a wireless card that can support draft -N in this laptop. Does it just have to have the maker approval of compaq/hp such as the 441086-001 which is Installed in the HP Compaq pavilion DV6500 series?

Hi:
Yes, you are correct.
You can only install wireless cards with the HP part numbers listed in your service manual.
If there are only wireless G cards listed, you will not be able to install a wireless N card, or your notebook will halt on boot until you remove the unsupported card.
