Where, and for how much can I buy a replacement front panel for my dv6?

Hi,

 My HP Pavilion dv6-2170ee currently requires the replacement of the two touchpad buttons, and a front panel (the plastic one, painted a chrome silver).

As you can see, the silver 'paint' on the touchpad buttons and the front panel are worn off. My warranty is ended, so I would like to know the total price (in USD $).

You have to buy the whole top cover chassis. The part number is 518788-001 and it costs $49 on www.getpartsonline.com but use google or ebay to find the cheapest price..

I think that they could be bought separately but I don't know where so use google..

how do you lookup the part number?  I have a dv6-2130ej and can't find part numbers for the front cahssis anywhere...

The name for the chassis is "top cover"..

hey I see your alptop appears similar in damage to my front aea around the endges. Thsi i found was from my luggage carry on wheels inside the bag. Its a roller laptop bag NOT good dfor laptops. Laptops should be carried at all times to prevent the constant shock of the roller bag and rollers inside rubbing on the frame of the laptop. CARRY your laptops everyone!!!!
