I'm upgrading a Pavillion Dv7 Series laptop and getting confliction information on the RAM it will run. Major RAM sites say the DV7 series will run will run DDR3 but they also say the DV7T-1000CTO uses DDR2. More research suggests the switch to DDR3 was made about the time my laptop was made. 8GB of DDR 2 costs about $200 and up, DDR3 is about $50. My DV7T -1000 CTO is running 3GB of DDR2 now and I need to know if the motherboard will support DDR3. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. THANKS!
The processor is an Intel Core Duo P7350 (2ghz) 64bit
The Graphics card is a NVIDA 512MB GeoForce 9600m GT
The Notebook product # is KN798AV
The serial # is [Personal Information Removed]

Hi,
If your notebook currently has DDR2 Ram then you will not be able to install DDR3 as the modules are physically different and not backwards compatible.
