change core i3 to core i7 for video performance with Intel HD graphic cards...

hi, i want to know if i can upgrade my first generation intel core i3 to a third generation core i7, i want to do so because i heard that the intel HD graphics works from the prosessor and upgrading it will upgrade my graphic performance... is it true? if it is, will it be good for my notebook pc?

i also wanted to know something else, is it true that only the first generation intel core i processors overheat? (mine does)

You can't. You can't even upgrade the first core i3 to a core i7 from the first generation (maybe to some but not to all). My core i7-720qm is cool and quiet, no overheating..

Ivy Bridge computers can be downgraded to Sandy Bridge but Sandy to Ivy not (similar socket but different electro/power stuff)..
