I have had this laptop for less than a year and the battery is dead. Ran the built in test utility and received the following error Failure ID:
Primary Battery Test: Failed.
Is this a warranty replacement. We have the receipts from the purchase. How or where do we go to get the replacement?

Call HP Technical Support using contact info from here and Give them your Notebook details. Tell them battery has gone bad and provide the Failure ID of the battery test results. If your computer is still under warranty, HP will replace it free of cost for you by shipping the battery for you and it should reach your place with 24-48 business hours.
