hi
I bought an external hp dvd 557s drive about 3 month later. it was working probably with my hp tm2 2150 touchsmart with windows 7 64b os. But it's about 1 month that i have a problem with it. the driver of device is not ok and i cant install the driver because there is an error that says the driver is not for dvd557R!.
I tried the device with other laptops with windows 7 and xp os and it works probably with those.
i think the reason of problem is auto updating of my windows and laptop(hp update) that has changed a driver. I rolled back the driver of device to the first but it didnt solve the problem. i solved my touchscreen problem with that way.
Is there other drivers that updating them effect on dvd drive and i should roll back them?

@viktorios,
DVD drive drivers are handled by Windows by default (even for USB connected drives). Here is the download page for the DVD drive. If the device required a specific driver not provided by the OS, then it would be listed there. However, I do see there is a firmware update that doesn't say what it is specifically designed for, but I would recomemnd attempting to install it if you have not done so already.
What are the exact symptoms you are having?
If the notebook is using Windows, what does device manager show for DVD/CD drives?
Do you get any error messages?
What is the model and product number of the notebook?
NOTE: Do NOT provide the serial number.
