Hp Pavilion DV7 laptop 4045ea  AMD Phenom p920 Quad core Processer 1.60 GHz

I have upgraded my ram to 8gig the computer is showing  8 gig installed but is only showing 3.74 usable no one seems to be able to sort this out

I have the same issue. Added 2GB on my presario, but can't use them. They are stuck in the AMD PCI Express (3G..) Filter driver. How to unlock those ?

Are you using a 32bit or 64bit operating system?

Yes I do you home premiun 64bit.

I had 1.7GB free ram for applications, and I hoped to have 2gb more (shared memory for the gfx card).

But I noticed that this is not as easy as on normal pc's I had in the past.

I notice that the "AMD PCI Express (3GIO) Filter driver" claims the memory space between 0x80000000 and 0xFD00000 (almost 2GB). How can I free this up ?
