presario m2000 hard drive

i have a presario m2000, the hard drive is dead, i am going to replace it, i need to no the type of hard drive it is, ie; ata ultra ata sata pata

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

The drive you need to replace your old one with is an IDE drive.
80 GB is the largest drive that your PC came with.
Do not exceed 120 GB, or you may have issues (like the drive not being recognized in the BIOS).

the manuals do not specify the type, just the size, I have spent about 4 hours so far just trying to get the right type to order, your supplers were no help either

I don't work for HP.
Google the part number like I did for any of the hard drives, and you will find descriptions of them being IDE drives.
