[ Edited ]

hi all

i have hp m7 j020dx bought and woud like to change its wifi card .The present one is stock intell n 2230.My wife bought me an ac router for my birthday so i can be connected on 5ghz (better) signal.

Well im interested does this pc support 5ghz wifi card?Does it have antenna for 5 ghz wifi cards?

Couse i saw in maintenance and service guide it supports  intel dual band ac 3160.

Can i install the fastest intel dual band wireless-ac 7260 plus bluetooth  on this pc wthout problems?

Hi,

I believe you can use Intel 7260AC on this laptop. This wifi chip is compatible with the Pavilion TS 15 j000 series with the same chipset so it should work on both laptops.

Dv6-7000 /Full HD/Core i5-3360M/GF 650M/Corsair 8GB/Intel 7260AC/Samsung Pro 256GB
HP Touchpad provided by HP
Currently on Debian Wheeze

Well i hope that it can work.

If not then next in line would be AC 3160 as it's listed in the service guide.

But honestly i don't find reason why it shouldn't work with AC 7260...

But let's make it clear..this one can support abgn 2.4 AND ac 5ghz right??  Becaose i have other 2.4 ghz devices that nees to work on that freq. And my laptop and desktop to work on 5ghz
