I have an HP LaserJet P1102W and the attention light will not stop blinking. I do not have a paper jam and I have installed a new cartridge. How do I fix this so the printer will print? Is there a way to reset the printer?

Thanks

Hello @Atlantic30,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand your Laserjet P1102W attention light will not stop blinking. I will do my best to assist you! Please make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector. I just want to see if this makes a difference.

Follow this entire HP document on Blinking Lights. Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great night! Smiley Happy

This problem is now several years old with no resolution. This response is insulting. We know what the freaking light is supposed to do, but it sits and blinks all night for no freking reason. Win 7, win 8. Fix it lazy dross.

I admit this is the dumbest answer I've heard on the internet.

Anyway I just ran into this problem after a paper jam and fixed it myself.

1) Remove ink cartdige, and make sure all paper residue is out of the machine after the jam. (Most likely reason the light came on)

2) Reinsert Ink Cartidge, and pull power cord from the machine.

3) Wait a few minutes or press the power button with the power unplugged to make sure there is NO power to the printer.

4) While holding the cancle button insert the power cable. Continue holding the cancle button for at least 5 seconds.

5) Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.

6) If printer hasn't started. Release the power button and press the power button once.

7) If all goes well, you just did a hard reset and the blinking light is out.

That's what worked for me. I don't get paid for tech support, I just use GNU/Linux and beleive in freedom of information for all.  :catsurprised:
