I am now unable to print in color because I keep receiving a message that I must replace the magenta cartridge. I have with a brand new cartridge. Toll tells me the ink levels are at 100% and I can print a test page that prints magenta. I have tried cleaning heads, aligning heads, disconnecting power and reconnecting and still cant print any photos because the message that I need to replace magenta appears. What do I do? Is it time to throw away the printer and go with another manufacturer?

Hi
Did you set up the printer with host cartridges?

Hi,
I am having the exact same problem with the same printer but I am afraid that I didn't understand the response. I have a new cartridge that shows as full ink level, and a test page prints perfectly but if I try and print anything else I get this error:
"To print in colour please install the following cartridges: Magenta
To print with black ink only, click black only. The printer will replace colours with grayscale. To cancel, press the Cancel button on printer.
If empty ink cartridge is not replaced soon, all printing will stop."
I have just spent a fortune replacing ALL the cartridges and still can't print! I have had my printer a while so had to replace the ink, it is not a new set up.
I have tried the support pages and the "override the false error message" help link and that didn't work either.
Please help, I don't know what else to try.
Thanks,
Catmandu26.
