F4180 incompatible cartridge error

Hi. I've used my F4180 all in one printer for a few years with a black HP 54 cartridge. I was restarting the printer spool (or at least attempting to) and now it reads the 54 cartridge as incompatible. I have uninstalled and re-installed the printer. I was mainly curious what else I can do to get the printer to recognize the cartridge again. Thanks in advance.
