Hello,
I originally bought my HP F4280, in Chile. I have now moved to the UK. I ran out of ink, bought catridges, dumped the old ones.... and discovered to my great surprise that they are not compatible with my printer because they have a different region code.
I was NOT made aware of this charming shennanigan when I bought the printer. Not a customer friendly way of doing things.
But it gets worse. After looking at the forums answers here, I called Customer Support and was told that if I do not have the original cartridges from Chile there is nothing they can do. In other words, take you printer and dump it..
Obviously I could import cartridges from Chile (as they are not available in the UK) total estimated cost about 70- 90£...
Is it possible that HP cannot solve my problem because I do not have the old cartridges? I bought a printer, there was no information in the user manual about region codes and having to keep old cartridges if you moved.
It is absolutely unnaceptable to tell costumers that HP has no solution for an issue they are wholy responsible for.
I am hoping I just got bad Customer Service today and that a solution is going to come my way!

The page here shows how to print a diagnostic page. Try installing the new cartridges and then use the procedure there to print an extended self test page (ignoring error lights). If the page prints properly let me know, it should be possible to use a page printed this way to assist the reset procedure.
