HP Officejet 4315 All-in-One Printer - cartridge error and blinking light. How do I fix this problem?

Hello @2Swimmimg,

Thanks for posting in the HP Forums, and welcome!

I understand you are getting a cartridge error on your HP Officejet 4315 All-in-One printer. I'd like to help you with this.

Firstly, is the printer plugged directly into a wall outlet? The printer does have a power moderator, so if it is plugged into a surge bar or battery backup, it'll often cause power fluctuations. These fluctuations can cause a slew of errors on your product, so I'd recommend doing this first.

If that doesn't immediately resolve the issue I have a few questions for you that will allow me to better assist you:

  • Is this a genuine HP cartridge, or has it been refilled?
  • Is this a new cartridge you are installing for the first time, or one that has been in the printer for a while?
  • Do you have an alternate cartridge you can try? (Even if it is empty and after installing the error changes to low ink, then the issue is the cartridge and you can exchange it)

I look forward to hearing back from you and working towards a resolution for this issue!

Have a fantastic weekend.
