We have run out of magenta ink and would like to print in black only without having to push OK button to allow printer to print in black only for every use.

Hello. In the manual on page 211 it covers using black ink only. It is mentioned as a temporary measure in the manual.  This is the section that covers ink cartridge errors in general for the printer.  Here is that link.  http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03227497.pdf

This is in breach of basic product trade description. Black Ink Only means only Black is  needed. {Content Removed} Fix!
